Lighthouse Public Affairs was founded by Chapin Fay, who has over 20 years of experience in media, campaigns and government.
Prior to founding LPA, Chapin was a high-level media strategist, political consultant and crisis counselor at a high-stakes public strategy firm for Fortune 500 companies, law firms, lawyers & lawsuits, advocacy organizations, individuals, governments and political candidates.
Previously, Chapin served as a Press Secretary and Director of Public Affairs for New York Governor George E. Pataki, where he managed statewide press offices, developed and executed messaging campaigns and served as lead media contact and spokesperson. Chapin has extensive media relations experience and a network of New York, D.C., and national press contacts. He has been quoted on the record extensively and has provided analysis for the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, NY1, Pix 11 and Fox News, among other outlets.
Named a top political consultant in New York State by City & State magazine every year since the founding of Lighthouse Public Affairs, Chapin was one of the first staffers hired on the last successful statewide Republican campaign in New York. He is a veteran political operative with significant campaign management experience, including Harry Wilson for State Comptroller in 2010 – which was called the best run campaign that cycle and was the closest a Republican has come to winning statewide in New York since Governor George Pataki in 2002 – Lee Zeldin for Congress in 2014 and dozens of other campaigns from local elections to U.S. Senate races. He also has national campaign experience, having spent a cycle at the National Republican Congressional Committee in Washington, D.C. advising candidates across the country.
Chapin has also served as a Counsel to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and as a Series 65 licensed investment adviser at a financial services firm.
Chapin holds a BA from Amherst College, a JD from Fordham Law School and is a member of the New York State Bar.
